The Bean’s First Birthday

I made this with my Cricut!

Happy Birthday to The Bean! Actually, it was on July 28th, but back then there was pink lemonade to be made, and banners to hang and baby cheeks to kiss. I’ve been busy.

I won’t be one of those that goes into the detail of every single DIY craft and too-much-time-on-my-hands flourish, but I will say that I’m quite pleased with how everything turned out. And it would not have turned out without the support of my husband, who not only cared for Ellie during all of the preparation, but also helped with the banner and a pretty wreath that is not pictured. Also, my younger brother and his girlfriend were clutch in helping me make all of the big pouffy pom-poms. It truly was a team effort.

We had a wonderful afternoon with family and friends and cake and playtime at the park, and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Ellie even ate some cake! Here are a couple of pictures (click on any of them to enlarge them).

Lemon cake with lemon frosting. It was delicoius!

The family! Ellie was waving practically all day.

Ellie's favorite toy.

Pending permission, I have a few photos of friends and family that I’d like to post. Ack! Gotta run! The Little Bean has awoken from her slumber.

Print it. Frame it. Put it on the wall. These two had a ball at the #slocasockhop tonight, and my world is spinning. How are these beautiful people mine? Where has the time gone? Can one of you show me where to find the pause button? #elliottbeangodsey
